Apple Pie Biscuits with stewed Apples

Updated: May 13

Playing around with my food again! I had these in mind for a sweet friend of mine who was under the weather, and I wanted to bring her something comforting. I love to bake for the peeps I care about!

When you make food from scratch and with love it always tastes better:)

I just used what I had in the fridge did not want to go to the store. This is a great early fall recipe.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Bake time:350 degrees @ 20 minutes or until the tops are a nice golden brown

Ingredients:

2-3 large apples(pink lady or galas are good)

1/3c. of brown sugar

1-2 tsp. of cinnamon set aside in a small spice dish

splash of water or apple juice

1 pad of butter

  • While you are rolling out my recipe for my buttery biscuits; in between the first and second layer sprinkle a layer of small chopped apples, some brown sugar & a little cinnamon.

  • fold 4 more times(this builds the flakey layers)

  • allow to rest in the fridge.

  • cut the biscuits out round or square (how ever you wish) then allow them to set up in the refrigerator until the fats are more solid. And the dough rests

  • pop into the oven until done (per instructions).

Stewed Apples

  • cut 3 apples into small-medium chunks, then add to a medium saucepan on medium heat.

  • add a splash of water or apple juice to the apples.

  • add brown sugar and cinnamon

  • then allow to render down until a you get a nice cooked through apple(translucent).

  • add 1 pad of butter stir in well.

I like the shiny look that the butter leaves with the apples.

I thought the stewed apples would be nice to serve with the biscuit on the side, you could even add a little cream fresh to it!
