Directions
In a medium bowl add the ground turkey , 1 egg ,breadcrumbs and 3 pieces of chopped bacon.
I like the chopped bacon in the ground turkey. Turkey can dry out so the bacon adds extra fat and gives the burgers a nice smoky flavor.
add 2 tbsp. of my spice blend and mix all together. My spice blend is one I use quite often when grilling this adds a great flavor to the turkey burgers, add more if needed.
1 pound of ground turkey should easily make 4 burgers.
I did use a cast iron skillet or you can use an outdoor black top, thats is great too.
in my heated up cast iron skillet I add the burger patties in with 2 tbsp. of butter, and cooked on med, hi heat. You do want a good sear on them too.
Cook the burgers until internal temp is 160-165, then allow to rest for 10 min.
fry up the rest of that bacon for the burgers too.
Mean while slice the red onions and tomatoes for your dressings on the burger.
wash and dry the lettuce leaves. I love butter lettuce, it's even better when it's from the local farmers market.
When you make the guacamole, I know we all have our own taste in guacamole, so make it to your own liking.
My Siracha-mayo is just 1/3c. mayonnaise with 2 tbsp. siracha sauce and a touch of honey
or you can buy it in you're local grocers.
Dress our buns accordingly!
Toast your burger bun
I like to add the lettuce on the bottom bun, 2 tomato slices, onion slices on top of the tomato's slices so the burger doesn't slide off of the tomato.
add the turkey burger
siracha-may on the burger
criss-cross the bacon(2 slices) over top
guacamole
then the bun!
Let's get messey!!
Add a skewer with 2-3 dill pickle rounds through the top of the burger and
take that first big bite! I dare you!
I love to shop local for vegetables just because It's my way of supporting the locals farmers in the area.
If your not in this area look up you're local farmers markets!
