Flat bread
Prep Time: 15 min.
Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 1/4 c of A.P. flour
1 c. of full fat plain yogurt
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. of fresh finely chopped rosemary
veg. oil to brush on the flatbreads
Directions: In a large bowl add the flour, salt, garlic powder and rosemary. whisk the dry ingredients together, then add the yogurt. Note: (I like to use rosemary to add to this flatbread recipe, but you can use chopped fresh basil, or flatleaf parsley).
Stir in the ingredients until the pastry starts to come together. Roll the dough into a ball then Knead for 4 minutes. Let the the dough rest for 30 minutes. Cut the dough into quarters, then cut the quarters in half. It should come out to 8 dough pieces.
Roll out the dough into 1/4" thin pieces of flatbread, and they don’t have to be a perfect shape either, (imperfections are fabulous)! Brush a little oil on the top of the dough and place the oiled side down onto a hot non-stick fry pan on medium heat. Then brush a little oil on the side that is facing up, and flip. Then when both sides are brown place them on a paper towel.
I have made many different flatbread recipes but I have to say I like this one because it is a light, tasty vessel for lots of creations. It is just another canvas for me to play!
I will link you the flatbread toppings on my site, if your looking for some inspiration.
