"Exploring the Deliciousness of Grilled Aprium Salad: A Perfect Summer Dish"

Updated: May 12

I always like to see the new fruits of the season, no matter where I am. The plums are really looking good this year. There are a few different kinds to choose from. I wanted the ones with the most natural sweetness, and I came across the Apriums". If you ask an apricot to marry a plum you get baby Apriums! I was doing some reading on Apriums and Plumcotts. There are different ratios of plums to apricots that are married together. There is some good info on All recipes https://www.allrecipes.com/article/the-difference-between-plumcots-apriums-and-pluots/

They are sweet, and a deep plum color inside. They would be great to make jam with.(one of my next projects)! I will keep you posted!

Grilled Aprium Salad

Prep time: 15 min.

Cook time: 10-12 min. grilled

serves: 4

Ingredients

1-2 fresh Burrata

arugula

1 c. fresh blackberries

6-8 Apriums

balsamic vinegar glaze(to drizzle)

honey(to drizzle)

salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  • This recipe is so easy it doesn't take long to prepare.

  • Make sure you have a beautiful serving dish, The Tarnished Apple likes to make her food pretty!! You eat with your eyes first!!

  • Have your grill pan ready on the stovetop at med heat.

  • You can also do them on the barbeque.

They do cook quickly because of their small size and usually their quality of freshness makes a difference too.

  • Clean and cut the Apriums in half and carefully take out the pits.

  • Grill the fruit 5-8 minutes on med heat, with a little oil in the pan or non stick spray. flesh side down.

  • love to see those grill marks on the fruit. It also brings out their natural sugars.

Stay close to the fruit on the grill you don't want jam.

  • add 1-2 handfuls of cleaned arugula on your serving dish, (you can also use spinach if you wish).

  • place some of the black berries over the arugula leaves

  • carefully place the grilled Apriums over the bed of arugula & blackberries.

  • remembering the gilled side up always.

  • leaving room in the middle of the plate for that beautiful burrata.

  • drizzle the honey over the grilled plums( if you have a wild flower honey that would be even better).

  • drizzle the balsamic vinager glaze over the whole salad

  • top with a sprinkle of salt to taste and a little extra ground pepper. which will give a nice heat to the grilled fruit.

Simple yet elegant! very tasty indeed!! You can easily serve this up with chicken or a light whit
