Looking for a break from the everyday cooking routine? Maybe a romantic night just for the two of you without having to leave the house?
I have a fun and delicious suggestion for you! Why not create a simple, effortless and mouthwatering chauccoutterie board for two that's perfect to bring to the couch.
Maybe at the end of a workday that leaves you tight on time or a just a rainy day in with your someone special while you cuddle up for a great movie!
You can always plan and prepare the food in advance, have it ready in the fridge and assemble it when you're ready to serve... just be sure to be creative and make it your own!
When you are making you're chauccoutterie board , always try to make sure the food you are sharing is interesting and unique to the one your are sharing this with. I always say; "You eat with your eyes first".
To start you may want to think about some of his or her favorite snacks and go from there.
Try to use a variety of sweet and savory bites while always keeping texture in mind.
Think of hard or creamy & silky cheeses, crusty loafs of bread, flakey and crunchy crackers... use your imagination !
Some Chauccoutterie Board tips from me to you:
If using a particularly pungent cheese, try adding a touch of honey as it provides a hint of sweetness that will bring a balance to your board.
What fruit is in season and perfectly ripe? A great standby is always sliced apples, they not only go with cheese, but also different types of cured meats like prosciutto.
Grapes are also good idea, in this case I added perfectly sweet figs. They are tasty, elegant and a little indulgent.
Try some almonds, walnuts and pistachios that work well with softer cheeses and fruit while providing a great protein component.
Olives are such a versatile addition to any platter and are available in delicious stuffed varieties.
Always ensure that you're Chauccoutterie board choices complement your beverage selection. A nutty cheese such as Gouda is a great choice paired with a smooth Bourbon. Perhaps try a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, their level of acidity cuts through prosciuttos fat and it will feel like its melting in your mouth delicious!
The mini nibble boards in my shots are from Homegoods, they are a perfect size for 1 board per person.
Presentation is everything for me, so make you're Chauccoutterie Board look pretty, enjoy that cocktail and put your feet up!
