With it being the middle of summer here in Florida, it’s extremely hot! So an ice cold drink of sweet tea hits the spot every time! I have become quite accustomed to drinking this here, and love it! With it being peach season, I knew I had to do something with these beautiful fruits. Sweet tea is perfect for a hot summer day anywhere. This is a tea that you could make easily with White or green tea.
Ingredients:
4 large ripe plump peaches
2c. granulated sugar + 1/2c. to put aside for later
2c. cold water
1/2 juice of a lemon
2 black tea bags + 3c. hot boiling water
lots of ice

Directions:
Clean and cut the peaches into large cubes. It’s not too important on cutting the peaches because you are going to boil them down anyway.
Add the cubes of peaches into a large pot on med-hi heat with 2c. of sugar and a squeeze of half a lemon with 2c. of cold water.
Allow the pot of peaches to stew down for 20 minutes or until the peaches becomes softened and the peach skin translucent.
You will need a large bowl with a fine strainer over top to pour the softened peaches through.
With the peaches that are left in the strainer, you are going to use a wooden spoon to press down on the peaches to get as much flavor out of the peaches as possible.
So all that beautiful peach goodness goes into the bowl with the peach juice. It should be about 3 1/2cups of juice in the bowl.
Allow the peach juice to cool down 10-15 min. or until it’s warm or room temp.
Set the strained peaches aside for later. I will later show you what you can do with those leftover peaches.

Meanwhile you are going to boil at least 3 cups of water to put into another bowl with black 2 tea bags. You want to let them steep 3-5 minutes.
Then allow the black tea to cool down for 10-15 minutes.
In one of your favorite juice pitchers, pour in 2c. of the stained peach liquid.
add the tea to the pitcher.
Give the peach tea a stir and you can add more sugar if you need. You can add a few slices of fresh peaches and a few slices of lemon to the tea. I like to add 2-3 cups of ice to the pitcher of tea just before serving.
with this recipe, the tea becomes more flavorful and sweeter if it is kept more than a a day or two but that's if it lasts that long.
Time to put this drink together!
With 1/2c. of sugar that you have set aside, pour it onto a small flat plate.
Run the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and then dip the rim of the glass into the sugar.
when you pour the Peach Sweet tea into the glass, You may be tempted to add a little bourbon for a little kick. It would be a great addition to the tea for a summer barbeque or get together with your friends & family.
Now it’s time to take your glass of Peach Sweet Tea outside and enjoy the summer weather!!
Please as always if you try this recipe, let me know how it turns out!
