Prep time: 10 min.
cook time:15-20 min.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of finally chopped onion
2 cloves of minced garlic
1/3 cup of pecan bourbon
2 cups of ketchup
1/4 cup of white vinegar
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/2 tsp of garlic salt
1 teaspoon of cracked pepper
Directions:
In a medium saucepan on low medium heat, add your butter until melted. Add onions and garlic and stir through until softened, then S&P and garlic salt to season. Add your ketchup, stirring constantly on low/medium heat until it starts to bubble.
Add vinegar and brown sugar. After you have incorporated the vinegar and brown sugar, add 1/3 cup of bourbon. I used a pecan flavored bourbon, that really added to the flavor. It doesn't really matter as long as it's bourbon. You want to make sure you cook the alcohol off and keep the flavor.
This is my favorite barbeque sauce, the bourbon really gives the sauce a smooth flavor. This goes great on chicken and pork. This sauce should be kept refrigerated and will keep up to 10 days.
Enjoy!

My thoughts...
We just bought a smoker and our outdoor grilling will never be the same again! So I had to come up with a good bbq sauce for grillin. I have done quite a few different sauces in the past. If you like sweet with a smooth flavor of bourbon, this is it!
You know it's a good sticky sauce when your family has more sauce on their face then the grilled chicken itself! The grilled chicken was delish. Which we smoked for 2 hours and the cooked at 250 for 30 minutes. It was perfect.
Look for my Sweet & Spicy barbeque sauce as well!
