We are at the Dunedin Market this morning, meeting up with some friends. What a sweet place to meet and enjoy a beautiful Florida day. A great place to take the dog out or pick up some fresh veggies & fruit for the week. I am seeing a lot of arts & crafts. Love the creativity that I am seeing. But as usual it’s the food and the smells that draw me in. I headed over to pick up some fresh tomatoes and some Plant City Strawberries. They smell sweet! And look wonderful. Hmmm thinking of my homemade waffles with strawberries and fresh whip cream. Perhaps even a drizzle of raw honey!
Speaking of honey, I had to stop at the Honey Booth and check out Eden’s Nectar, they are local, raw, Florida Honey. They are located in Land O' Lakes on Broadwater Drive. I see that there was a lot of different tastes to choose from, so taste tests are a must! I did purchase their summer honey. They had the honey bear bottles: 1 lb. jar, 22 oz. jar, and many other sizes to choose from. They even have seasoned flavors such as winter, spring, summer and fall honey. I did see some bee pollen which goes great on a salad for some sweet crunch; maybe even in a smoothie. Honey and bee pollen have great medicinal values as well as being good for your skin! There's a lot of information on their site at LocalFloridaRawHoney.com
Stopped in at The Life Farms booth to pick up some of the lettuce. Lots of beautiful veggies to choose from. They also have a lot of information on their site www@lifefarms.net
Eventually we made our way out of the market to Downtown Dunedin. Love to see the little shops and restaurants!
We ended up following our nose to Harley’s Gourmet Popcorn & Cider Shoppe. They have a variety of sweet and savory choices. They even have Key Lime Pie (really good)! There is Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup, Cinnamon Strudel, and Bloody Mary with Pickle to name a few. If you’re a popcorn lover and in the area don’t forget to drop in!
The 4 of us ended our day at Sea Sea Riders for a bite to eat with a cool beer on the porch with a batch of warm hush puppies. Sea Sea Riders are located near the waterfront in Dunedin. Their menu has some great little bites for snacking. I did try their Scallop Ceviche. which was very good. We also tried their lunch special; grouper nuggets, and their craft beer. Good Food! It's a great place to chill out and see the sights and charm of this quaint little Town of Dunedin
